Shuffle poem (deb)

A Tempered Prize

...seems an appropriate title for my ShuffleWords poem, this week's RWP prompt from Dana.
Soon, vey soon, I'll have my Twitter on the sidebar so you can go see - if you want to - the stuff I am following, poetic and ramblings.
Or you can see RWP's Twitter...

I love it--especially the phrase "a tempered prize" and how the openness of the poem allows my imagination to go every which way as far as what the mentioned prize may be. (Does that make sense?)

These were fun, huh? Did you find it challenging? I think it's cool what different things everyone came up with considering we worked from the same, relatively small, list of words.

Hey, wouldn't a compilation (done either collaboratively or by one poet) of several poems all crafted from the same list be kind of cool? Has this been done?

I'll stop rambling all over your comments now. :)

Thanks, Blythe!

It was actually really hard! The words were so simple and I kept having to erase words my mind was supplying as I went along.

A terrific exercise.

I *love* the idea of a compilation. Love, love, love it. I wonder if a page on Facebook would work...? Hmmmmm...

I can't take all the brilliance! "their furious going / down" is so great, especially with the way you drop the line down on the word "down."

Oh, my heart. It will give out in the face of all this beauty.

the tiny url was fine, it was being blocked by my zonealarm duh. Anyways, to more important business, really like this, so imaginative......this is why I couldn't play, I'm too linear. My favourite line is also the one Dana flagged....great.

So I'm going out on a little limb all by myself because my favorite was the very last part: "called no little thing". But it was. all. brilliant.

And I love the idea of a compilation. I think this has been my favorite RWP prompt in quite some time, and it's been extremely enjoyable to see how differently everyone utilized ShuffleWords.

I can just see old orange dogs among dirty tables. Love the ending too. I wasn't brave enough to limit myself to the few words on Shufflewords, I found it hard enough using the much larger set of my own magnetic poetry.

agree with chicklegirl thought the last line was perfect... it seemed to bring it in so to speak for a landing...

Lots of great imagery here. I could not pull off a shuffle poem and am amazed by what others have come up with!
